[Pause] Listening room
Waiting For Ideas presents [Pause], a listening room conceived as the spatial extension of the PP-2 turntable.

Music no longer has a body. It flows as a stream: invisible, weightless, traceless. Vinyl gives music back its physicality. A record is a memory you can hold.
[Pause] grows out of this idea: if music is physical, its library should be too. Not a shelf to look at, but a space to inhabit.

In the heart of Tokyo, a glass cube rises from a concrete platform suspended above the water. Inside, silence is the first material. At the centre: the turntable. Around it, flush with the floor, a series of square hatches, each engraved with an artist's name. Lift one. Take the record. Play it.

Each record is a compressed memory, a dormant sensation. The library lives beneath our feet because that is where memory lives: below the surface, present yet invisible, waiting to be retrieved.

PP-2 was conceived as a pause: a moment to stop, choose and listen with intention. [Pause] extends this idea into space. Listening here is not a habit, it is a ceremony. The room does not frame the object. The object gives rise to the room.
